Scouting Sections
Scouts Victoria operates the Scouting Program in age groups, known as Sections or Units. Each Section meets weekly to take part in fun, hands on, age-appropriate activities designed to build confidence and improve skills.
Joey Scouts: Age 5-8 years
Discover - Play - Grow!
The key focus for our Yarram Joey Scouts is to learn about the world around us. We engage in active and interactive play, build strong friendships, and learn about our community and natural surroundings.
We meet weekly at the Scout Hall during school terms. Mondays 4.30pm - 5.30pm
You will find us playing indoor and outdoor games, cooking, learning about 1st Aid and tying knots, and having a whole lot of fun.
Cub Scouts: Age 8-11 years
Adventure Awaits!
Time to get out and about and explore everything our local area has to offer. Our Yarram Cub Scouts are all about developing skills, trying new activities, fostering independence and creating some pretty incredible memories.
You will learn more about our community, taking responsibility for yourself and our environment, maybe attend a camp or two and have some serious fun.
We meet weekly during school terms on a Thursday 5.30pm - 7.00pm
Scouts: Age 11-14 years
Building Independence & Leadership
Our 1st Yarram Scout Section runs on a youth lead program. Our Scouts collaborate with Leaders to create opportunities for growth, self sufficiency and adventure, all while developing peer networks and the skills they will need for all the fun challenges ahead.
You will find our Scouts out hiking, pioneering (making cool things out of wooden poles and ropes), camping, cooking, learning survival skills and competing in Scout events.
Not only that, we encourage our Scouts to look beyond themselves and contribute to the community around them, fostering a strong sense of self and belonging.
Join us each week during school terms on a Tuesday 5.30pm - 7.30pm
